Projects ILS

The urbanization of the early 21st century is subject to enormous dynamics: urban spaces emerge, grow and change, their transformation is multifaceted and increasingly discontinuous and disparate. A better understanding of these processes is a central concern of the spatial urban research of the Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research. The ILS investigates the various dimensions of urban change on different scales and in an international comparative manner. In an active dialogue with practitioners, policy-makers and society, important insights for a sustainable transformation and design of urban spaces are generated.

The Junior Professorship for Sustainable Housing Stock Development, according to the "Jülich Model", is a partnership between the Faculty of Architecture and the Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research gGmbH in Dortmund.
