two first prices at the Schlaun competition "Trilogie für Dortmund" 2021/22

Schlaun competition

On April 28th, 2022, the jury chaired by Prof. Rolf Westerheide selected the winners from among 72 submitted competition works. The first two prizes for urban development and landscape planning went to the master’s students from the Faculty of Architecture at RWTH Aachen University, Alena Cohrs (partial task Klönne) and Isabel Behne (partial task port), with their master’s theses submitted to the junior professorship for sustainable housing development in the winter semester 2021/22.

In addition to the urban planning task, the designs of the two award winners focused on the process of converting the previously monostructural urban spaces into mixed-use inner-city quarters for living, working and production.

The two supervisors Prof. Alexander Schmidt (Institute for Urban Planning and Urban Development at the University of Duisburg-Essen) and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jan Polívka (Junior Professorship for Sustainable Housing Development at RWTH Aachen University and Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research gGmbH in Dortmund) congratulate the winners and wish them continued success!
